Description
Fihankra International is an organization established by African (Diasporans who are convinced that Africa is our homeland, too, and that the mission of the present generation of Africans is to promote the reintegration of Africa with its Diasporans. To accomplish this mission Fihankra in committed to the associated tasks of working with like minded persons to establish the Right of Return to the descendants of Africans born in the Diaspora as a direct result of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, and to propose and initiate a Program of Action for the political, social and economic reconstruction of Africa.
On December 9 1994, an event occured which still promises to help heal the division caused by the centures of suspicion and mistruct that has evolved between African born on the continent and the descendants of those Africans in the DIaspora that had directly suffered this separtion from the land of their fathers. On that December evening a customary, yet historic, purificaiton (atonement) ceremony of a stool and skin, (two traditional articles of cheftancy) later named FIHANKRA, was conducted in Ghana, West Africa.
The chieftain of Fihankra International (Nana Kadwo O. Akpan I Fihankrahene), from Ghana, Africa will provide a half-hour presentation. There will be a greeting from the Kings and Queen Mothers of Africa, a definition of Diasporans, Citizens of FIhankra, and a description of the Atonemen that took place in 1994 and what has been accomplished.
